Mama's Cucina

We played Mama's Cucina! The kids little table was moved into the living room and they actually ordered whatever they wanted!
Having the liberty to eat what they liked didn't make them stray from their mainstay! It was PB and J all around. (Actually Georgia ordered turkey but the inexperienced waitress messed up the one order she has ever taken! In my daze I made peanut butter and jelly by mistake.)
Look at Georgia asking for a refill.
THEN, they got a bill!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CASSIE. WE LOVE YOU!

A Pound Auction

You ask "what is this all about?"
I'm sure you will never figure it out!

Grandma and Grandpa B came over with a couple paper bags full of things wrapped in newspaper. The items were from a pound auction where each person brings something in that weighs about a pound and is wrapped in newspaper. You can see some of the stuff on the table that they opened. Poor Georgia opened the absorbent diapers and ultra absorbent training pads for DOGS. It was really funny at first but then she opened the doggy perfume!!! Keep in mind that these were opened separately. It wasn't staged either. I had no idea what was in the packages and randomly was pulling them out of the bags. What are the chances of that?!

A Day On the River

We celebrated Ava's 6th birthday Saturday by attending a sort of river fest. Here are the big girl cousins enjoying a very entertaining puppet show.
Margie enjoyed the show as well. She sat like this for quite a while!
The puppets even left the restraints of the theater to get down in front of the crowd.
Here is the princess on her newfound friend the dragon giving and receiving some high 5s from the kids.
After we ate lunch and saw this fire boat spraying some big streams of water.

Pretty Ava. She's getting so big!!!
I was up quite late Friday night and early Saturday morning making this bonnet for her. I think it is adorable. It is McCalls M4547. We need to thank Sara C. for the surprise I discovered on my receipt when I got to the car. That was very sweet of you!!
The most adorable thing. This is a baby alpaca.

A tortoise eating peaches.
There were LOTS of reptiles and exotic pets on display for the kids to look at.

Thanks for the fun day Stacy and Ava and Brendan!! Happy 6th birthday Ava Elizabeth!!

lesser yellowlegs

I have been trying to snap a picture of this lesser yellowlegs for a while now. They seem to be a nervous bird. We were coming up the driveway and I always drive slowly to see if we can spot one.
Cute little thing huh?
Actually we first noticed one from the other side of the bridge and I was snapping pictures of it off in the distance when Josie noticed this one on the other side. Then we looked further down the creek and...
right there was a blue heron a few more feet away!
Just beautiful.

Soccer is Done

Georgia's soccer season is officially over. (I think I knew it was over after I saw the first practice!!) I'm kidding. They ended up losing every game but the smile never faded from my little Georgia's face. The coach was young. I remember coaching her after I graduated from high school. I guess that doesn't say much for my coaching skills but I should add I was ASSISTANT, not head coach. She learned as well.
The poor team played a lot of defense! They were outscored 38-3!!

Surprisingly Georgia being a bag of bones, didn't let anyone intimidate her. She did really well.

My girl! You did GREAT Georgia. We can't wait for next year. 11 months and counting.

VBS: Boomerang Express

"All aboard!! the Boomerang Express" It was the Catholic Churchs' year to host Vacation Bible School this year. The theme was boomerang express, it all comes back to Jesus. I once again (for about the 100th year in a row) did the music portion of the program. The music was GREAT and boy did we knock the socks off of our audience on Friday for our performance!! Above is a picture of Georgia's group (in blue) at "Worship Rally" where they heard the Bible message for the day.
Josie enjoying snack. (Notice the shirt AGAIN Jenny. All they want to do is wear clothes from you guys- THANKS!!!!)

Emeline was my helper (if you want to call her that???????). She got to enjoy snack too though.
Josie and her buds.
You got tagged Jo!
Margie Sue LOVED the week. She stayed right in the church with me and kicked and sqeaked all morning long. I had the kids stand in front of her and she was in her glory. In her own little way I'm sure she memorized the songs.
Josie before the performance. One of the young leaders snuck Emmy yet another lollipop I see.
Usually each year the crafts people have the kids bring in a T-shirt to decorate. Sometimes it is an iron-on and sometimes it is hand painted. This year it was handpainted as you can see.

Georgia and her bud Emma.
We are still singing the songs day and night right through our sleep.

A Little Picnic

We went on a little picnic yesterday to a "park" in town. Remeber the picnic quilt I made?

We also brought a bubble blower with us but after 30 minutes of trying to find a rock or piece of metal to open the battery compartment (I finally twisted a bobby pin around enough to work) the thing didn't work so we had to blow the old fashioned way.

Emmy always has some sort of edible something in her mouth. Here she is stomping the bubbles.

Margie kept tabs on everyone. Isn't she darling?
There she is again watching her sisters.
Georgia tried to catch some in her mouth. It sure is BIG enough!!

She kept her eyes on her sisters when she could open them I guess. It was an overcast day but still a bit to bright for baby.

Wish it wasn't blurry.
