Cute Christmas cookies

The girls and I took a day and made some Christmas cookies. This is what we came up with this year. You can find these buttery trees here.
These were VERY fun to make. I piped melted white chocolate instead of royal icing and the girls put on the m&ms. They can be found here. Happy baking!

how many monkeys in the bed?

Somehow all of the girls ended up in the same bed the other night. Looks like Jo is the blanket hog, Georgia is left out in the cold and Emmy rules the roost!

Paper Bag Ginderbread Men/Women

We made some gingerbread boys and girls out of paper bags. Didn't they turn out cute?
Here are Emmy's

Some of Georgia's.

Some of Josie's....and
... we have to get them all up here so some of Margie's too! I got the idea on kaboose.
They turned out cute. I hope our cookies look half as good!

My Josie

My Josie. Don't look too close at that tooth barely hanging on. Yuck!

She thought she was Samantha, the American Girl. They are always imagining. xo

town's Christmas party

Recently our town had its annual Christmas Party for kids. Margie of course wanted nothing to do with Santa.
I was a face painter and I don't think, no let me rephrase that, I didn't get up for over 2 hours. There were some pretty strange looking kids walking around after they had been back 2, 3, 4 times!

The girls also made some notebooks. Notebooks are their absolute favorite thing!

First Reconciliation

My dearest Josie makes her First Reconciliation tomorrow morning. Please pray for her!

Josie drumming with a side show

As promised some drumming videos. I like the second one when Margie gets mad! I had to get off the camera fast to save Emmy.

surprise under the pillow

While getting ready to wash the girls bedding I discovered this stash under Georgia's pillow. Let's see: Ginger Pye, My Friend Flicka and Johnny Tremain. No wonder the girl wears glasses. I catch her every once in a while reading by night light. It probaby (no not probably) happens a lot more than I think too.

tree decorating

The tree is up. It looks the same as it has for the past 10 years. I've been feeling like maybe I should change it but...we'll see. Here is Margie being a super helper (can you imagine). Every time one would go on she would take it off and move it.
Georgia deciding.
Josie instructing Emmy. Emmy not liking it.
Very proud of that spot though. I hope you are all enjoying the Advent season. xoxo

Jo's Birthday

Here are a bunch of pictures from Josie's family birthday party. My little Jo is 7!
She really wanted a pumpkin roll after seeing a picture of one so pumpkin roll she got!

"7". With her pizza stained mouth!
Oh Georgia has a pizza stained mouth too. I have to laugh because the close up of Emmy and of course Margie showed sauce on their face too. Then I laughed harder because I got to the close up of Brad and he had it too! I was the one with the camera so their is NO proof of mine!

A giggle.
Lost in her food .... again! She LOVES to eat.
I just had to put this series of pictures up here. It had me in hysterics. This was Jo's first gift. What the...? A big black rubber circle?? A flying disc maybe??
Her second. A rather heavy bunch of metal all folded up. A .... ??? I don't know.
Notice the look on her face.
This makes more sense. Some wooded sticks. Hey they look like drum sticks!!!!
"Yipppeeeee Yaayyyy Wooo HOooo" (jumping and clapping)

A REALLY big REALLY heavy big black thing. Emmy yelled full of excitement "She got a new backpack!!!" Which was exactly what it was. A backpack with a ......
..... snare drum inside. Oh that is what the heavy metal thing was. A stand.
Rock on Jo! (Videos to come)
I just have to say thank heavens that the big black rubber circle was included in the kit. (A practice pad to mute the sound!)

Give Thanks craft

I saw a picture of something like this somewhere but I can't remember where. A while ago I bought some ears of indian corn and it took a LONG time for the girls to pluck the kernels off. Even the young ones got into it as you can see. I think they turned out really pretty. Actually I just found where the picture was and they used split peas for the letters. I didn't even notice that when I first saw it.

mosaic cornucopia

Another craft we did yesterday during our all day craft marathon was a mosaic cornucopia. Even Margie partook in this one.
Josie. She was making a very non flattering face so I cropped her out. Mean mommy.
And Georgia's. She was not making a very non flattering face but she was sick in bed!
