Some like carving... others not so much

Here are my girls anticipating the pumpking carving.
Emmy was sooo excited. She was very intrigued by the messy yuck she saw inside.

So intrigued that she decided to give it a taste test. As I carved hers and the chunks fell out she would say cheese and try to eat it.

She soon realized it wasn't any "cheese" that she had tasted before.

Then pumpkin carving took a turn for the worst. "Mom somethings not right"
What is the matter Emeline?
Oh that's what is wrong. This seemed to happen ceaselessly after this.

Here is Emmy's finished pumpkin.

Here is Emmy looking at that very pumpkin!

Here they are. (All except Dad's. He did his when he got home from work.)
I guess I should say - Here they ALL are!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Winter Storm Warning?!!

We were under a WSW for this afternoon and night. It can't be possible. Here are the girls and Brad trying to get some spark plugs in the van before "it" hits. It was spitting a mix at this time. Mom kept saying No, we are not going to get any snow. Just the tug-hill will.
The girls when "it" started. Hmmm maybe we are going to get snow.

Ut oh! At dusk.

Before I went to bed. Yeah we're getting it.

SNOW DAY! Brad has had two "snow days" already this year. One for the wind storm and one for this. It has to be a record. The kids and I went out to play today. They made a pumpkin snowman!?

Salt Dough Ghosts

We made salt dough ghosts. It is very easy and quite fun.
All of the girls got in on the fun. It is just 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of salt and 1/2 cup water.

Mix mix mix.

Eventually we had to use our hands. Even more fun!
Emeline, considering spoons usually taste good after we mix things, decided to give it a taste.
I wish I had gotten her look of disgust after it hit her tongue- this is the end of it.
Here they are already to be baked!

Ooops got out of order.

Emeline tried to shape the dough.

"Don't nuke me."
But we MUST.

Here are the spooky ghosts, peeking and prowling around the table. Very cute!

Halloween Party

The kids enjoyed a Halloween party at a local church this past weekend. Can you believe my little fairies wanted to be a witch and a vampire this year?
Playing Halloween bingo.
Georgia a blurr playing a racing game.
Josie a blurr playing the same game. It was reassuring to see Josie play this game. There was a rule if you drop any marshmallos out of your spoon you have to go back to the beginning. Josie can sometimes be a little sneak so I was watching her close. She was just about the only kid being honest. She wouls drop some a foot from the bowl, pick them up and turn around and go back. Way to go Jo!

Crafts.
Emmy at the party. She was asleep before we left and I really didn't intend to stay. She was the only kid out of costume. I should have brought the clown wig or something.

She had fun with balloons!

Daddy decorated!

Daddy and the girls decorated the house while I was at school! Great job. The guy (as Emeline) calls him has a new head now. The balloon was too scary.

animal habitats

We have been learning about animal habitats and we found a great site with games to play.

Miniature Horses

The kids took a trip to visit some miniature horses. Ok, now I am hooked on these. They need one to drag around!
