We have begun reading the Chronicles of Narnia series and are into The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe now. One of the characters sides with the witch because she tempts him with Turkish Delight. Along with the book we are making a lapbook which had the recipe for the treat so we just had to make it.
It had to cool overnight so the girls were very anxious to try this treat right after breakfast. Edmund, the character whom loves it so much in the story really peaked their curiosity! Unfortunately I don't have a candy thermometer and I over cooked it. Anytime I'm asked to cook to the soft-ball stage I do. It still tastes good though.

The girls and I are very proud of you Jenny. You do a wonderful job teaching the girls and putting forth great effort in all that you do. Thank You!! Love Brad and the girls
I just loved The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe! What a fun book to read. That candy you made looks good too. Where do you buy flavoring, right in the baking/spice section of the grocery store? Your groundhog crafts were really cute, and I really loved the end where little Margie is running around! Sam still won't walk. Talk to you soon, and hope you are all doing well!
Those were one of Christian's favorite collections.. he's read some of them more than once. The candy looks good!! I remember it from the movie too. That wicked witch!! I think I would follow that candy anywhere.. tricky tricky!!!
have a good weekend!
lots of love
Jenny
