Eyed Elater Click Beetle

Have you ever seen one of these? I never had until yesterday. It was on Brad's shoulder. Upon some research I discovered it is an eyed elater click beetle. Supposedly if you turn it over on its back it plays dead. After some time it will arch it's back and flip itself up to 6 inches in the air to right itself. When it flips over it makes a loud clicking noise. Wish I had flipped the bugger on its backside now!!
Bandit went nuts over this bug. What a watch dog!

Yesterday I finally got some flower pots finished to flank our bridge. I have wanted to do this for years just never have. They are a little skimpy right now but they should fill out nice.

Yep they look good!

You have to get the book The Very Clumsy Click Beetle from the library. The girls will love it, especially after seeing their own click beetle. Here is the amazon link(maybe)
