A Wonderful Mother's Day

They took good care of their momma. Breakfast in bed, went out to lunch while Brad and the girls stayed home and prepared some surprises, then when I got back they made lasagna and peanut butter pie for dinner. I can't say it enough. THANK YOU GOD (not for the delicious peanut butter pie, but for the wonderful family!)!!

Margie and her yoga

The girls and I do some yoga for a stretching exercise and Margie has picked up some moves.
Downward dog. Good job Margie. She gets right into it and knows when I pull out the mat that it's time for yoga. She was actually doing this before I turned it on tv.

homemade pinata

Well we made a pinata to help celebrate cinco de mayo. We started it Tue. because I knew it would have to dry so here are the kids getting ready to get dirty!

When I said dirty I meant dirty. I think they had more flour paste on themselves than they got on the balloon.
Emmy took a turn blowing it a little because mom was afraid it wasn't going to be dry in time.

It was dry in the morning and Jo was the first one up so she helped be put the fringe on it. We used slit pieces of crepe paper.
All ready to whack.

Yippee! All that work smashed to the driveway :(

We also made a Tres Leche cake. Very fancy I must say with the tres leche sauce.
It was superb. This will definitely be a recipe we remember.
!Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Ducks

The ducks have almost doubled in size and boy is it getting hard to catch them. We let them wander around and they really enjoy themselves. VERY stinky, messy things. I look forward to them getting out of my house for good!

starting seeds

The girls are going to start a flower garden this year. We are just getting our seeds in so it might be late blooming but they will have fun just the same. They spent some time planning and drawing it out. We'll see how close they come.
Emmy enjoyed discovering seeds again. She couldn't believe them to be exact. How can that little thing turn into a flower. It will be fun to watch her. Her seeds in a baggie experiment worked this time and she keeps telling me there is a worm in the baggie when it is actually the first root or radicle as Emmy learned it is named.

They mixed our seed starter in a bucket oh joy.
I've learned from experience NOT to think the seeds I start will make it into the ground because they ALWAYS get dumped. I am trying to avoid that by putting them in some containers this year. We'll see!
Jo started Alyssum in a pot she painted. Look how proud she it! It's just one of those things that could go wrong. I hope they grow!!!!

Rainy window craft

We made a cute rainy window.
A fun part was to use a hole punch to make the raindrops.
And of course gluing.
Our window even got curtains.
There is it. between the pieces of construction paper there is a baggie with the punched out pieced of paper. When you flip the window upside down the "drops" fall. It actually works and is cute.

Trip to Albany Part III The finale

My buttons got pushed and things are out of align - sorry
Here is the finale. They are married at long last.
I tried really hard to get a nice picture of the girls outside. They had just sat through an over 4 hour car ride and a wedding ceremony. They didn't want any part of this picture.

What a treat it was to see the outstandingly beautiful architecture of Albany. It's a wonder our state is out of money.

Celebration time. Emmy LOVED her fancy glasses.

The girls patiently waiting again. It was a multiple course dinner, I'm still recovering, but it took hours to get through! Soooo yummy.
Reese and Anthony made the occasion.
The wedding cake.
Still eating!!!
The first dance.
Dad and Glenda
Time to get this party started. Although I don't think this family needed us to get the party started they were a rowdy bunch. Quite surprising when compared to the 5 star dinner! I thought things might end up a little "stuffy".
The girls can finally MOVE!

The tuckered out so fast though. Time to go back to the hotel. We are so glad we made the trip. It was an experience for us all.

Trip to Albany Part II

The day after the wedding we went to visit my father and Glenda.

The ride home was glorious. We cut through the Adirondacks. Mountains, here we come.

Somewhere around Tupper Lake.
It was great to see you Dad and Glenda.!xo
