Can you find the rainbow?

A day of rest at last. It was a hectic past couple of days. The lake effect snow machine is still brewing south of us and they are getting walloped. In the above picture I tried to capture the teensy weeny rainbow behind the tallest tree on the horizon to the left of the picture. A token that beauty can be found even in not so good things.

Still alive!

We are still alive up here after the storm. We lost power for a few hours and don't have internet (I'm at Brad's school right now) but we'll be back as soon as possible. Stay warm! xoxo Jenny

Look at Margie Sue

She's almost a walker. She is carefully going from couch to coffee table and taking little leaps of faith now. Her vocabulary is making sense now too. MaMa, Dada, Baby and something that sounds like Bad. She's no longer a little baby but is turning into a little toddler.

Christmas Parade and Fireworks

We went to the annual Christmas Parade this weekend. I didn't get any pictures of the actual parade because this year my arms were full of baby but it was just as wonderful as last year.
Afterwards we stayed for the fireworks and got a great view right from the van.
Margie loved them!

Here is Emmy laying on the horn when they were finished. Blow Emeline Blow!!

A visit from Grandma and Grandpa S.

This is the THIRD time Josie had "Happy Birthday" sung to her this year. She finally got to celebrate with her best friend, cousin Ava.
This time she had peanut butter pie. Mmmmm.
Georgia making sure she says thank you nice and loud.
Half of the crew.

Matt keeping Margie entertained.

Thank you Thank you Thank you Cassie for coming and bringing along your beautiful pup.
Miss Elsie Rae with a really small baby.

Margie and her blanky.
Santa Baby.

We didn't get any nice group pictures because of the normal choas that comes with large family gatherings. Thank you so much Dad and Glenda for making the trip. We miss you so very much. Wish you could have made it Theresa and John. Hope to see you soon.

Looking at the Sky on Friday

We woke up to this this morning - beautifully illuminated clouds from the sunrise, contrasted by the ominous snow clouds to our south. (Hope they stay there!!)

Josie's Parties

We celebrated Josie's birthday on Wednesday. She asked for strawberry shortcake!
6! Two hands oh my.
Georgia gave her a heartfelt card all about getting older and how she is so much wiser and such.
Josie loves any kind of puzzle. She loves her funpads and crosswords, wordsearches etc.
This is from her family party Thurs. Jo can be a bit bashful when all eyes are on her. You can almost hide behind that sky scraper cake Jo! She asked for Boston Cream.
The gang.
The other half of the gang.
Grandma's telling Margie a thing or two.
Russell just loves to be hugged and kissed and Emmy likes to dish it out.

Cousing Matt looking REAL comfortable holding Margie.
A happy Jo.
Grandma and Grandpa B. stayed to watch Snow White for a bit. Isn't that a cute picture.

playing in the snow

As you can see we got a couple of inches the other night so naturally I threw the kids out the door to play. Spooky Boo thought the snow was fun too. Josie was pretty nervous with the cat being white. She thought for sure the cat would get lost and we wouldn't be able to find her because she would blend in.
This is basically Emeline's first snow. She can't remember last year.
She just couldn't control herself!
My Georgia.

The First Snow

We woke up to our first snow-fall last night. I couldn't wait for Emmy to wake up to see it. Doesn't that smile tell it all? They all ran around screaming and jumping full of excitement. What a wonderful life!!!

Fish Art

We made our fish yesterday to go along with our reptile. I found an outline and then cut up some scallop shapes for the kids to glue on.
Then Georgia outlined it again with a black marker.
We decided to give it some shine with glitter.

Here is our fish. Anybody have any idea of what we can use for an amphibian? I'm sort of stuck on that one.
Loving Father, in you we see light. Dispel the darkness that keeps us from you. Teach us to rejoice in the Holy Spirit, and to know your love. Fill our hearts, we beg you, with the brilliance of your truth.
