Posters for Earth Day

We are continuing our Earth studies for the month of May. The girls made some very interesting posters. I was very impressed.

We love our Earth.

We enjoyed a sun-filled day at the "other" playground nearby recently.

Emmy really wished she was big so that she could climb around on this. I bet Jo is pretending to be spiderman.

Mountain climber Georgia. We should find a place nearby that has these sort of walls to climb. It would be fun.

Now miss independent needs to try. We rode the horses last night and when it was her turn Daddy held her leg. She didn't like that at all and insisted that she could do it herself!

Neat swing isn't it? Extra comfy for little (but especially bigger) behinds.

After the playground we ate our lunch at the river. This is as close as they wanted to get. We need Uncle Ben and Uncle Russell to take the girls fishing some time.

THEN, to top the day off Mom and Dad played tennis while the girls rode their bikes. This is SUPER fun for them because our drive way is very difficult to ride in. Looks like they are out growing their bikes. It is always something.

So, we did. We always love to stop in to play with the babies. Boy do I want some!!

Arbor Day

We learned about the anatomy of a tree for arbor day. It actually interested the girls. We LOVE trees. Unfortunately (as you can see) we are looking at a stump in these pictures. Behind and in front of our rock wall were a bunch of Elm trees that we beautiful. Slowly but surely we keep losing them to Dutch Elm disease. Now they are making a variety that is resistant to the disease. I should get some because they really are a nice tree. I have some flowering trees ordered and I can't wait for them to arrive so we can have a planting party!

Margie and her Mobile

My little Margie and her mobile. She loves this thing.

over break

I'm trying to get caught up so these are some pictures from ove break. The first three are from a trip to the playground.

Isn't he beautiful? One of the places we took the kids was to the zoo.

We have had this mobile hanging above our changing area for all 4 of the kids. All of the kids have enjoyed watching the bears go round and round while they get changed. Margie has impressed me. She has been following the bears around and talking to them for a couple of weeks now. Maybe she is a genius grandma!!!

Recycled Crayons

In honor of Earth Day we recycled some of our crayons.
Didn't they turn out beautiful?

The girls thought they were pretty cool.

They had to use them RIGHT away.

Now we have a use for all of our teeny tiny pieces of crayons!

Paul's Birthday / Easter at mom's

I know I'm a little late posting things lately. These are some pictures from Easter Sunday. We celebrated Paul's birthday which was the 11th. We wish you a happy year Paul!!
