Fall Festival at Nature Center

The following pictures are from our Fall Festival trip to the Nature Center. Some you may have seen but I recently had to purchase more picture space in the virtual internet world and wanted to get all of these in my virtual album so am posting them here to do so. :)
Up and over the bridge. VERRRYYY exciting!

The scarecrow making consest was awesome. We'll take part next year.
How big is your wingspan?

Letter I with ice cubes

Emmy is on letter I so what better way to make an I than with ice! I'm not sure why the little spontaneous things always bring the biggest smiles but playing in the rain, mom getting ice out to play with, etc always is a winner when compared to some thing I have been planning for weeks! Emeline did this over and over and I even heard Josie asking oh just about a hundred times for a turn!

St. Francis of Assisi

Oopsy a little glare but you get the idea. We have been having so much fun rediscovering the Saints. For St. Francis of Assisi's feast day the girls made yet another poster (their choice). This one is Georgia's. What a remarkable story he has going from wealthy to giving up all possessions for God. I wish I could do that!
Here is Josie's. He is the patron Saint of animals. Ok girls next time lets NOT do a poster collage!

Saint Therese of Lisieux

For the lovely little flower, Saint Therese of Lisieux's feast day we made a poster of some of her beautiful quotes and a novena.
Lots of the quotes come from her supposedly spectacular autobiography "Story of a Soul".

Mom and I went to a very relaxing hour of prayer devoted to St. Therese where we each were given a rose. Mom mentioned reading her autobiography and said how much she loved to read it when she was younger but it since has come up missing. (sshhhh - I know what to get her for Christmas now!) I can't wait to read it myself. What a wonderful little lady she was.

The Archangels: Sts. Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel

Wednesday we enjoyed learning about the archangels St. Michael, St. Raphael, and St. Gabriel. Thanks to Waltzing Matilda we had some nice coloring pages and I found some prayer cards to go along with our studies.
Georgia's
Josie's (the yellow is heaven)

Emeline's
And of course Margie's.
I even was able to help our Father Art out Wed. evening at a parish council meeting when he stumbled over the angels names. He said "St. Michael, Rachel and ......". I was outwardly quiet and calm but on the inside I was laughing and shouting what - Rachel? Father I know you are 80 something but come on! Then I very politely assisted him and I think I got a gold star!
